Tough & Durable Materials
BenchRebel currently offers three tough and durable materials. The properties of a given raw material vary greatly in their strengths, and no single property trumps all others. For example, Tough 2000 is ideal for functional prototyping where dimensional accuracy under load is critical; Tough 1500 is better suited for demanding functional prototypes and end-use parts that require both stiffness and ductility. Durable resin stands out for its Delrin/POM-like characteristics such as low-friction and impact resistance.
The examples highlighted above, and many more variables, will impact how a product is designed and manufactured. To help with that decision, design guidelines are provided below.

Durable Resin is the most pliable, impact resistant, and lubricious material in our functional family of Tough and Durable Resins. Choose Durable Resin for squeezable parts and low-friction assemblies. |
Stiff but compliant material with toughness that rivals polypropylene. Tough 1500 is the ideal choice for end-use parts and enlosures. |
Tough 2000 Resin is the strongest and stiffest material in our functional family of Tough and Durable Resins. Choose Tough 2000 Resin for prototyping strong and sturdy parts that should not bend easily. |
